Dr. Lisa Baron in her medical examination room

Lisa Baron, MD

Dr. Baron (she/her) is a board certified family practice physician who has served the Colorado Springs area in family medicine, urgent care and occupational medicine since 2004. She graduated from Hunter College in Manhattan in 1996 with honors. She then attended St. George’s University School of Medicine from 1996 until she graduated in 2000. Dr. Baron did an internship in Psychiatry at Western Psychiatric Institute & Clinic in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania followed by a Family Practice internship and residency at UPMC St. Margaret. She was Chief Resident her last year and graduated in 2004.

Dr. Baron is so excited to be practicing in the Direct Primary Care (DPC) model because it allows her the freedom to practice medicine in the best interest of her patients and not the medical industrial complex, which values profit over patients. She loves caring for patients of all ages — infants to elders — and desires a close personal relationship with each and every one of you. This is achieved by having the time to get to know you and understand your health issues thoroughly and how your life circumstances affect these issues.

Dr. Baron has a strong background in caring for neurodivergent patients and will help care for you with compassion and understanding. She will help you navigate the system to access appropriate care and services. She is well-versed in mental health issues and practices trauma-informed care. Dr. Baron also practices gender affirming healthcare. She will take the time to listen and help you achieve both physical and emotional well-being.

Dr. Baron lives with her two teenage sons, Holden and Brody, and four rescue pups. She spends most of her free time with her sons, but also enjoys making mixed media art, hiking and reading.
